Blake Arbogast
Head Coach
Arbogast just completed his 5th season as the head coach of the Tigers, claiming the programs second American Southwest Conference (ASC) Tournament Championship, the first championship under Arbogast. ETBU finished the 2024-2025 season 23-5 and earned a berth into the NCAA Division III National Tournament for the second time under Arbogast (third in program history).
In his first four seasons as the head coach of the Tigers, the team amassed an 80-27 overall record, competed in the NCAA Division III National Tournament in the 2021-2022 season, and made two trips to the ASC Tournament Championship game.
During his first season (2020-2021), the team completed an undefeated regular season, 24-0, and made a trip to the ASC Tournament Championship game. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the NCAA Division III National Tournament was canceled. The Tigers finished the season ranked second in the national poll.
Prior to his appointment as the head coach, Arbogast spent one season (2019-2020) as an assistant coach at ETBU. The team won 20 games and went 13-3 in the ASC East Division. ETBU was regionally ranked and had the top defense in the ASC only allowing 55 points per game and .329 shooting percentage from the field along with the top shooting percentage (.425), rebounding defense (32.7), and rebounding margin (+10.6).
He came to ETBU after coaching two years at the University of the Ozarks (UO) in the men’s basketball program. In those two years, UO improved their win total by five and had three players named All-ASC. He played four years of basketball at Howard Payne University (HPU) and was a graduate assistant for one season before moving onto Holliday High School.
Arbogast graduated in 2015 from HPU with a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise and Sport Science and later completed a Master of Education in Sports Administration from Midwestern State University in 2018. He and his wife, Shelby, have two sons, Foster, who was born in June 2020, and Nash, who was born in August 2021. They attend Cypress Valley Bible Church in Marshall, Texas.
Morgan Garrett
Assistant Coach
Morgan Garrett is serving her third season with ETBU Women's Basketball. She was added to the women's basketball staff as the top assistant coach for the 2024-25 season. She assisted in leading the Tigers to the programs second American Southwest Conference (ASC) Tournament Championship, a 23-5 overall record, and a berth into the NCAA Division III National Tournament. This is her second stint as an assistant coach on Blake Arbogast’s staff (2021-2022 previously).
Garrett has spent six years in the high school level where she served in multiple positions - athletic director, head girls' basketball coach, softball coach, track coach, and tennis coach. Through five seasons as a head girls' basketball coach she collected an overall record of a 118-41.
Recently, she coached two seasons (2022-23, 2023-24) at Providence Classical Academy (Bossier City, LA). Garrett started her coaching career at Riverdale Academy from 2016 through 2020. Riverdale won the 2018 MAIS State Championship, and she was the Class A Coach of the Year, guiding her team to an undefeated District record. They were also the 2020 MAIS State Runners-Up, boasting an undefeated District record. The three-time MAIS District Coach of the Year was also selected as an All-Star Coach in 2018 and 2020 and a MAIS Futures Coach in 2023 and 2024.
Between her two stints coaching in the high school ranks, she was the second assistant and head developmental coach under Arbogast for the 2021-22 season. ETBU went 21-6 and made the NCAA Division III Tournament, upsetting #19 Rhodes College, 65-53, in the first round. That year, ETBU went 4-3 against ranked opponents with one of the most demanding schedules in the nation.
Her collegiate playing career expanded from 2012 to 2016 for ETBU, where she played in 101 games, starting 36. She recorded 360 points, made 94 three-pointers, and had 116 assists. ETBU won 52 games during that time, going 16-10 in 2012-13 and 17-10 in 2015-16, and made two American Southwest Conference Tournament appearances.
She graduated from ETBU in 2016 with a Bachelor of Science in Education and a Master of Education in 2017.
Reid Adams
Assistant Coach/Head Developmental Coach
Adams is entering his second season with the ETBU Women’s Basketball program where he serves as the second assistant and head developmental team coach. In the 2024-2025 season, he assisted the Tigers to the programs second American Southwest Conference (ASC) Tournament Championship, a 23-5 overall record, and a berth into the NCAA Division III National Tournament.
Along with coaching, Adams is in his fifth year as the Assistant Athletic Director for Operations at ETBU. He transitioned to athletic department in 2021 after serving in the ETBU Advancement Department where he helped to fundraise for capital campaign projects, while also cultivating and stewarding relationships with ETBU alumni and friends.
As the Assistant AD, he oversees the day-to-day operations of the athletics department, fan engagement, fundraising, connecting with athletic alumni, and assisting the athletic communications department. He also oversees the Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA).
A former ETBU tennis player, Adams was an All-ASC East second-team selection at No. 6 singles and the East Division Sportsmanship Athlete of the Year. He played for Jeff Bramlett helping the teams to the ASC Tournament Semifinals.
He is a 2019 graduate of ETBU with a Bachelor’s of Science in Athletic Training and later earned his Master’s of Education Degree in College and University Leadership in 2020. He attends Crossroads Baptist Church in Marshall.
